Migrate from Insomnia

Fetchpier does not read Insomnia’s native export format directly. Instead, export your Insomnia data to a format Fetchpier does import — OpenAPI is the most reliable — and import that.

1. Export from Insomnia to OpenAPI

If your Insomnia workspace is backed by an OpenAPI design document, export it as OpenAPI 3.x (JSON or YAML). This preserves paths, methods, and parameters.

2. Import into Fetchpier

  1. Right-click a folder in the sidebar and choose Import.
  2. Select the exported schema. Fetchpier detects the OpenAPI/Swagger format automatically.
  3. Set the collection name and a conflict strategy (rename, merge, or fail) in the wizard.

3. Fill in the gaps

Anything outside the schema — auth values, environment variables, scripts — is re-created in Fetchpier: store secrets in an environment and add scripts where you previously used Insomnia’s. See the import overview for all supported formats.
